John Frieda’s talent and vision revolutionised an entire industry with exciting new hair care ideas like Frizz Control and Colour-specific products. Over the years, the range lost a little of its sparkle and edge as new, more contemporary brands swamped the market. The brand needed to reassert itself and remind women that its products and solutions were specifically developed to help them get the most out of their hair; simply, quickly and easily. John Frieda is the professional on your shoulder; the expert voice that advises, encourages and reassures that together, anything is possible. The global pitch brief was to reintroduce John Frieda to the world.
We built on the insight that together, we could do great things – combining the expertise of John Frieda with the vision of women everywhere, to have beautifully styled, healthy hair – whatever their hair type. Our idea of making John feel like a confidante and friend rather than a faceless brand didn’t just win the pitch, but the hearts of female shoppers too – seeing a resurgence in brand awareness and sales around the world.
